So, now that the dust is settling I'm trying to keep everyone here busy. Gavin's preschool is over for the year. Yep, over. It is a shame, but his teacher(Leann) got very sick and there was no way she could return to finish the year, and then her mother passed away. So a lot of prayers are going out to her.
He is my little buddy is all, this is how I have to look at it. Wherever I go,he goes, and not that this is really that foregin, it is just an adjustment.
However, Mirenda proceeds to enjoy school and be her 5 year old hormonal self almost 6. Seriously, with the attitude? My,my, how did my mom deal with Marja and I? I find myself talking to myself alot, and I can only imagine what I look like, I think it goes kinda like this:
Mirenda: Whatever mom
Me: Is she talking to me? (mind you I am looking around to find someone she maybe directing the "tude" toward)
Mirenda: What are you doing mom?
Me: What am I doing? HHHMMmmm good question, what AM I doing?
Mirenda: MOM
Me: Is she talking to me? No, she wouldn't, is she, I mean, is she really?
Mirenda: MOM
Me: Wow, I could have sworn someone was talking to me, but geez, I must be losing my mind
Now mind you before this is over, she has already left the room. And there I am at 32 years old, talking to myself feeling like an alzthmers paitent. Its sad, but true.
The other day, I promised her that I'd take her to cash in all of her coins. I picked her up from school, with my little buddy, its raining and cold, oh yea, I had been throwing up all night the night before, my reflux is killing me and all I want is to lay down. Never mind that, she had a half day of school, not that it matters, I take her to commerce bank, and she looks all cute standing there with her little High School Musical purse loaded with change. The coin counter thingy was not working, big shock, my luck, so the nice lady came and made a big fuss over Mirenda, Gavin just wants lollipops, he could care less. OK the change is counted the lady gives her a water bottle, Gavin too, and stickers and lollipops for both, now everyone is happy, we are walking out and it's rainning remember, I'm putting Gavin in his seat and this young guy comes out of the bank and says "do you need help" I'm thinking "Of course, but what do you know?" I said "no why" and he points to my front tire and says "you have a flat, like bad" OH JOY, I love it. I said "oh thanks, I'll just call my sister, or hubby, someone" He says "are you sure" I'm like "yea, no biggie" I call John, he says get a ride, I'll fix it when I get home from work. OK, I call my mom, she calls Marj, Marj is coming to get us. So I'm sitting there for a second and next thing I know here is this guy at my window with his buddy, and they say "You want us to change your tire?" I'm thinking "YES" but of course come out with "no, it's ok, really, someone will come"
Young guys: Seriously, we'll do it, we have nothing to do right now
Me: Really?
Young guys: Yea, we just left the gym, we'll do it
Me: Really? I don't even know where my spare is!! and its raining
Young guys: Lets see, ok, it's under your car
Me: Forget it,
YG: No, you have little kids, it will be are good deed
just then, the one guy is on the soaking wet parking lot ground under my car, the other guy is unscrewing the top of something,
I'm in shock, I mean really, is this happening to me? My reflux is killing me.
Just then Marj pulls up like, what the heck is going on?
Me: These guys are helping me,
Marja: Yep, that's south jersey for ya
Me: Can you believe this? By the way how old are you guys?
YG: 22 and the other one says, I'll be 22 tomorrow
Me: Your mother did a good job with you, she should be proud
Marja: Do you work at Mack n Mancos
the one guy had a sweat shirt from there
YG: Yea
Marja: got any pizza in your jeep?
YG: Oh sure, hold on let us get it for ya,
kidding
they finish they are soaked, dirty, probably cold and I was in shock, there are still good people in this world.
I gave them money and thanked them a million times, they acted as though they just gave me a piece of gum, like it was no big deal an everyday event. Anyway they work on 9th street, so if any of you go up there, make sure you ask for them was named Wes the other was blonde and blue eyes, cute, forgot his name, tell them what great guys they are to help a mother in distress.
The Lord does these kinds of things when we are not looking, its amazing.
Now the kids think, alright, lets go to the dollar store, I'm like, NO, we have to get this tire fixed. How do you like this one, right up the street I go to a tire place, they fix the tire and we are on our way in like ten minutes.
Reflux is getting worse, but I'm still ok with all of this. I tak the kids to the dollar store, Mirenda thinks she is it, with her money and purse. She chooses to buy the following: sour gummy worms, cinderella sunglasses, a coloring packet, and a hair thing. How cute is that? I mean, really, I stop and look at this and think, WOW!! This is the best, it could have been a bad day, but, nothing was keeping us down. I have to admit, I was in so much pain at this point, I wanted to collapse. If any of you have reflux you know what I mean. I just wanted to get home, and we did get home with our tresures, and story of the day. I laid down, John came home, and I started to feel a bit better. Just thinking back I am so thankful, for so many things. I am Blessed, and I know it. I think it is easier to feel sorry for yourself and be in a bad mood, it is so easy to judge and be miserable, it's easy to be the constant negative. Little things like this day make me take a step back and thank God for every single thing, even Mirenda's attitude, what would I do without it? God has filled my life with so many things, I am so grateful.
