Mommy Duty

So, being a mommy is definately fun and certainly changes when your little one leaves you all day to go to school, leaving you to wonder what they do all day. At first I thought, WOW all day to myself!!! Now, I actually cannot wait for her to get home. When I pick her up she runs to me with this look like I left her there for a week. Gavin loves to go pick her up and everyday without fail he jumps up and down when he sees her, only for her to push him away from her. His little heart breaks and he hangs his head down and crys. This breaks my heart, then I think, I missed you? We are working on being nice to Gav.

Wednesday, Mirenda says she doesn't feel well. I say "its only your nerves, you'll feel better once you get there" My famous last words. I got a call at 11:00 "come pick up your daughter, she has a fever and threw up in class!" OK, I feel terrible. We come home, she slept and threw up for 2 days!! Mirenda does not sleep so this was weird. She came down with a 103.8 fever and I started to panic, needless to say, I called the doctor and he tells me what I already know. I do it and proceed to take her to the doctor's office in the morning. I averaged a total of 6 hours sleep in 2 days. Gavin would wake up with all the comotion and shake his cup at me and say "I need a drink" I'm thinking, NO I NEED A DRINK! The doctor tells me she has fluid in her lungs and ears and that it could turn into phenomia!! GREAT!! Just wondering when Gavin will get this and me, too.....CAN"T WAIT. Here I'm thinking she has a stomach virus and I was totally wrong.

After all of this craziness, I got to go to The Red Door Spa, with Marja. John got me the gift for my birthday and what a great day to go here!! This is right from the doctor's office. I was almost late for my pampering, I will not get into it now, I was livid. Once in the Spa, it was like a month vacation. Started with the massage, then a facial, manicure, pedicure, and makeup and then Marja and I ordered lunch and sat by the pool. It was heaven. Really.

When I got home, Gavin started coughing, a croupe kind of cough, almost like a barking seal, Mirenda was crying she wanted me, she had a fever and wouldn't eat. I was back home this was for sure. My throat hurts, I'm coughing, we now have to miss John's grandmother's b-day party. Gavin is getting sicker by the minute, and has his first day of school on Monday!! I'm fighting this one. Mirenda is hanging in there and actually starting to look and feel better (beside the gigantic cold sore on her lip). My parents are on there way home from Italy and I can't wait to see them, but we are all sick and I do not want to get them sick!!

This is being a mom. Mommy Duty!!!! All this and I still would change nothing.
